Mardi Gras Card

Here's a fun card to make for Mardi Gras. It's an easy fold that can be adapted to other celebrations. The image in the picture is a sneak peek at my new Cloisonne Fleur Dis Lis stamp in an early incomplete stage of the design process. Look for the stamp in my catalog soon!
Here how to make it:
Supplies:
Cardstock in purple, green, gold, black and cream
Pearl Pens in Magenta, Kiwi and Gold
pencil
ruler
paper cutter
glue

Steps:
Draw an X from corner to corner on a 6 1/2" square piece of black cardstock. Fold all the points to the center of the X. Fold back the points to the outer edge on all four sides.
Cut a 1 1/2" square piece of green card stock in half to make two triangles. Do the same to a square of gold cardstock.
Glue one triangle to the triangular folds on the black cardstock alternating the colors as you go.
Glue a 4 1/2" square piece of purple cardstock to the inside of the black as shown.
Decorate the inside with a stamped image or photo or anything else you like.
Glue the completed black frame to a 5 1/2" square card. Finish with pearl pen decorations. Enjoy!

Our 20th annual Oscar party was a blast! One of the (few) funny moments from the show, Amanda and Max in the "upper balcony" and winner Carla with her 11 out of 12 correct ballot!
