Red card winners!

Here are the winners of the February card making challenge. They are: left, Barbara Breen, right, Beverly Allaire, bottom, Dorly Weitzen. Congratulations ladies!

Barbara
Barbara offered an opulent garden of red and gold. She used red roses as her background for the framed mini bouquet. There are different red flowers behind the minis too. The gold accents give the card just enough contrasting brightness to complete the composition. Well done Barbara!

Beverly
I think Beverly's card was just about 100% red and yet still interesting because of her use of contrasting textures. Beverly's use of the padded fan gives the card an intriguing extra dimension. Well done Beverly!

Dorly
Dorly's entry is one of many using the MSRS Cloisonne Heart. Her composition is distinguished by well utilized embellishments. I like the simple text, corner brads and flower accent which compliments the main elements of the overlapping hearts. Well done Dorly!

Hollywood card

The 19th annual Strong Oscar party is this coming Sunday. Here's a fun card for you to make to mark the occasion.

Supplies:
Black cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 8 3/4"
White cardstock measuring 8" x 3"
Grey cardstock (2 pieces) measuring 3" x 4" and 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
shiny silver cardstock
star punches or scissors
foam tape or pop dots
glue or double sided tape
Casablanca mini poster (print to approximately 2" x 3")

Steps:
Crease the black cardstock at 3 1/4" from the left side of the piece and fold it down.
Fold the 3" x 8" white cardstock in half.
Glue or tape the 3 1/4" x 4 1'4" grey cardstock inside the black folded card as shown.
Center the folded white cardstock on top of the grey frame and glue or tape it in place so that it opens on the left.
Attach the 3" x 4" grey cardstock to the front of the folded black card.
Fold the white card from inside over the 3" x 4" frame.
Attach the mini poster to the white flap as shown.
Punch or cut out stars from the shiny silver cardstock in a variety of sizes and glue or tape them "scatter" style onto the grey frame piece and anywhere else you like.
In keeping with the theme of the card, the inside message could be something like " The award for best friend in a supporting role goes to YOU!"
Enjoy!
